CONNECTING FLIGHTS

Safari Logistics accepts no responsibility for any delays caused by unforeseen circumstances such as mechanical breakdowns, diversions due to weather or any other cause. For this reason, Safari Logistics recommends that all passengers overnight in Victoria Falls or Harare prior to and after their safaris in Zimbabwe. Adequate Travel Insurance is essential as Safari Logistics is not responsible for missed onward connections or having to overnight passengers due to unforeseen circumstances. Where possible, Safari Logistics will offer alternative means of transport if weather or mechanical breakdown prevents the plane from taking off.

WEATHER AFFECTED FLIGHTS

During Zimbabwe’s rainy season which is November to April, certain airstrips may be out of service. In these cases, the closest alternative airstrip will be used. During the rainy season it is imperative that passengers have adequate Travel Insurance to cover for cancelled flights, costs of alternative accommodations/arrangements and possible missed onward connections. Safari Logistics will do everything in their power to get passengers safely to their destinations.

GUESTS WEIGHTS

Guest weights are required prior to travel so pilots can arrange the balance and overall weight of the plane in order to safely transport guests to the remote locations the camps are situated. Guests that do not give their weights prior to travel may be refused to board for safety reasons. Weight restrictions are based on individual passengers and cannot be compensated with fellow travelling passengers.

LUGGAGE RESTRICTIONS

Safari Logistics - Soft BagDue to the size of the luggage compartments in the planes used to get guests into the camps, luggage is limited to soft bags with dimensions of 25cm (10 inches) wide by 30cm (12 inches) high and 62cm (24 inches) long. No wheels or frames allowed as this restricts the possibility to get them into the hold under the plane. If guests travel with incorrect luggage they may be asked to repack into soft bags (provided at a cost by Safari Logistics) and their “other” suitcase may be left behind or transported to the end location at a cost. Luggage weights cannot exceed more than 20Kgs in total (checked and hand luggage). For additional camera equipment or overweight luggage, additional seats can be bought prior to departure.

Guests travelling with overweight luggage can purchase an additional “seat” which allows an additional 80kgs of luggage, but must still be packed in soft-sided bags that fit in with our above-mentioned dimensions.
